About the project
An independent view of the player race
Ballon d’Or Race is a football analysis project operated by Johan Paudel. It combines imported match ratings with an explicit scoring method so readers can examine how a season total was reached, rather than accepting a list without an explanation.
What you can do here
Compare the overall top 30, search beyond the first 30 players, isolate a domestic league or the Champions League, and inspect individual match contributions. Three featured player pages also present the underlying match record as ordinary web pages, accessible without interactive popups.
Our editorial choices
We chose a baseline of 6, a nonlinear reward for higher ratings, opponent Elo and fixed competition multipliers. These choices express the model’s priorities. They are open to disagreement and should be assessed alongside the exclusions and missing data described in the coverage report.
Not the official award
Ballon d’Or Race is not affiliated with France Football, L’Équipe, UEFA, the Ballon d’Or, clubs or the data providers. The table is not the official voting order, a claim of endorsement, or a guarantee about a future winner. Official voting can consider performances and factors outside this dataset.
Publication and corrections
This release contains imported matches through 29 October 2026 and is maintained by an online updater. Checks run every 30 minutes during the main European match hours and hourly outside them; scheduled runs may be delayed. For public information about the operator, visit the GitHub profile. Do not send passwords, student documents or payment details through public channels.
