What this ranking includes
The current publication is a saved snapshot of imported matches through 29 October 2026. An online updater checks for newly completed matches. Provider delays and daily cup quotas can delay publication. “Through” is the publication cutoff, not a promise that every possible fixture or statistic has been independently verified.
Competition scope
The selected domestic competitions are the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1, plus the Champions League. A club from another domestic league can still contribute Champions League appearances. Portuguese and Dutch domestic-league games and international performances are excluded. The domestic cup preview adds available completed matches across EFL Cup, Community Shield, Copa del Rey, DFB-Pokal, German Super Cup, Coppa Italia and Trophée des Champions. This is not complete cup coverage. Player names are matched within clubs where possible. New players receive separate provider identities; ambiguous matches are held for review. Missing cup ratings are not estimated. Cup heatmaps are unavailable.

Domestic cup import progress
61 cup fixtures currently contribute available player records. 488 completed cup fixtures are awaiting usable player ratings or a future request allowance. The free cup provider permits 100 requests a day; the importer preserves a queue and retries unavailable ratings. Missing cup ratings are not invented. Cup heatmaps are unavailable.
Reported, estimated and unavailable
Of 21,668 imported player-match records in scope, 15189 have scored provider ratings and 863 have scored estimated ratings. The remaining 5,616 records are unscored because a rating or confirmed participation is unavailable. Unscored records are not proof that a player played poorly, and can include players who did not play.
An asterisk beside a rating means it uses the player’s observed average in the selected competition scope, and is not a newly obtained provider rating. Statistics marked with an asterisk are partial totals; a dash means the value was not reported. Treating a partial total as a complete season total can mislead.
Opponent strength is a saved observation
Saved ClubElo observations extend through 2026-10-15. For later matches, the most recent eligible older observation is used, with a 120-day maximum age. This means opponent strength does not currently reflect every result played after that date. If no eligible Elo record exists, the model uses ×1.00 instead of inventing a team rating.
Sources and responsibility
League and Champions League player ratings and match statistics are imported from PitchAPI. Cup preview ratings and statistics come from Highlightly. Opponent strength uses saved ClubElo observations. Ballon d’Or Race is responsible for its own formulas, normalization, estimates and presentation. Attribution is not a claim of affiliation or independent verification by these providers.
Comparing players fairly
Start with the number of scored appearances, inspect estimated ratings, and compare the same competition scope. A higher total can reflect more included games as well as better ratings or stronger multipliers. These limits are why the website publishes the calculation and match records instead of describing the table as an official verdict.
